Is there a DROP LINK?

I see the documentation for CREATE LINK,
but how do I DROP a Link?

Thanks.

Hi @Steffi

You can just remove the data with a

UPDATE YourClass REMOVE theLinkProperty

Please consider that DROP PROPERTY only removes the property from the schema, but it does not delete the actual data (ie. the links)

Thanks

Luigi

Hello Luigi,

thanks for the quick reply!

It seems to me that to get a link to work in query evaluation is always a 2-step process:

CREATE [CLASS].[PROPERTY] LINK…
CREATE LINK…

I would assume it’s possible to “undo” the “CREATE LINK”, without having to DROP/UPDATE the property?

Steffi

Hi @Steffi

Not sure I got the point, a link is just a property containing a RID, so removing a link just involves removing/dropping the property

Thanks

Luigi

Hello Luigi,

OK, there is an explicit “CREATE LINK” statement, where I can assign a name to a link.

I wonder what exactly it’s intended for (it seems it’s redundant to CREATE PROPERTY of type LINK) and why there is no “DROP LINK” to drop a link by its name.

Steffi
